The refurbishment is needed to help Hindu Mandir respond to growing demand, improve its facilities, and strengthen its role as a regional centre for faith, culture, and community life. With increasing use of the building, including from students and worshippers with different prayer and ritual needs, the current space is no longer sufficient. The planned expansion from 9,000 to 12,000 sq ft will provide additional room for worship, community activities, and future growth, while also improving accessibility, sustainability, and the overall visitor experience. Through this project, the centre aims to become more welcoming, better equipped, and more capable of serving families, students, partners, and the wider South Yorkshire community.Â
